Educational visits training
Every school should have a trained Educational Visits Co-ordinator (EVC), who can:
- Understand and promote the benefits and outcomes of Learning Outside the classroom.
- Ensure all visits comply to your school and Local Authority policies.
- Ensure staff are adequately trained.
- Ensure your school has an Offsite Visit policy in place.
- Review and approve visit requests
- Monitor planning and running of visits.
- Ensure visits and policy are regularly reviewed.
Educational Visit Co-ordinator Training
Duration: 1 full day
When/where: Scheduled courses twice a year (October / April, various locations). Bespoke sessions can be arranged, please contact us to discuss.
Cost: Non-SIS* Subscribing School £180. SIS Subscribing School £122
This course will suit someone with some knowledge and experience of visits and practical leadership, and who has sufficient status to guide the working practice of colleagues leading visits. A certificate will be awarded at the end of the training, endorsed by the OEAP (Outdoor Education Advisors Panel) and recognised by Ofsted.

Duration: 2 hours

Cost: Non-SLA* Subscribing School £120. SLA Subscribing School £84
We recommend trained EVC’s should get update training every three years* (or earlier if there has been a significant incident or significant changes to policy and guidance). This course includes:
- Updates to guidance/policy
- Updates to Exeant
- Scenarios – spotting and managing risk
- Sharing good practice
