Archery GB – Archery Instructor £175

The Archery GB Instructor Award is the industry’s leading training course for archery. The course is designed for learners with little or no prior experience of archery. Learners must be at least 17 years old by the first day of the course. The course is 2 days long and includes a practical assessment. The successful learner will gain an Archery GB Instructor licence which lasts for three years. After this it can be renewed by successfully completing an online renewal module. The licence does not provide the instructor with insurance.

These are some of the skills you will learn on the course:

  • How to shoot arrows
  • How to prepare and deliver archery sessions
  • How to select appropriate equipment
  • How to set up a range
  • How to ensure safety on the range

National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA) YPS Tutors Diploma- £140

The standard course to be able to deliver a taster sessions in air rifle shooting. The NSRA YPS (Youth Proficiency Scheme) Tutor’s Diploma will equip candidates to run have-a-go sessions in air rifle shooting and also to take young people for an introduction to shooting over a longer period (as in Scouts or other uniformed groups).

10 and 11 March 2022 at our Bushy Wood site using an outdoor range.

British Canoeing Foundation Safety and Rescue Training

Pre-requisites: BC Member
Info: Foundation Safety Rescue Training for paddlers. Your course will support you to consider safe practices, provide practical solutions to common issues and appropriate responses to incidents, providing peace of mind when venturing out onto the water. It is a pre-requisite to the Paddle sport Instructor.

British Canoeing Paddle Sport Instructor

Pre-requisites: FSRT & BC Member
Info: The qualification will support the instructor with practical skills such as kitting up a group and getting afloat, initial familiarization activities, games and activities to support learning and how to use mini journeys to support learning, inspire adventure and exploration. This will be enhanced with support on how these sessions can be delivered in a way that is enjoyable, safe and rewarding.
The Paddle sport Instructor qualification is designed for instructors running Paddle sport taster/starter sessions within the safety management systems of clubs, centres or other organisations.

British Canoeing Paddle Sport Leader Training (2 day)

Your award will support you to run safe and enjoyable trips, based on your group’s needs and aspirations. You will lead journeys, on sheltered water, for a range of mixed craft.

As a Leader, you can work independently or be deployed by a club, centre or organisation to lead trips and journeys. The purpose of these trips may be wide ranging from educational experiences, social adventures or trying something new.

You will be able to provide British Canoeing Awarding Body Awards and Training such as:

Personal Performance Awards – Paddle Start and Paddle Discover.

RYA Powerboat instructor course-  4 days

Pre-entry assessment – a skills assessment prior is a part of the first day of the course.

Required certificates
First aid certificate
RYA Powerboat Level 2
Health declaration form or medical questionnaire
Experience
Five seasons experience of powerboating logged (preferably in range of boat types and sizes) OR one season for those who use powerboats as an integral part of their normal full-time occupation.
The course
Three day course assessed by an independent Trainer on the third day.

You will be qualified to teach up to and including Powerboat Level 2 under the supervision of the Principal or Chief Instructor. If you hold the Safety Boat Certificate, you may also teach the RYA Safety Boat Course.
