MIAS Mountain Bike Leader Level 2
MIAS Level 2 Instructor. After this course you should be confident to lead a group on Wild country terrain up to 600m with access of 30 mins away. The course covers, navigation, route cards, first aid, trail maintenance, access and conservation, group management and leadership, coaching techniques, bike handling skills and the law. You need to be competent on a bike and have some leadership experience. Having your own equipment is beneficial with a good level of fitness. The course runs at Friston and Bedgebury Forest.

RYA Assistant instructor – Dinghy ( site specific)
This course is designed to support volunteers and sailors who wish to build their skills and support sailing activities at Buzz Active. This course gives you the skills to assist on sailing courses run at the Buzz Active Eastbourne site, run inhouse by our team of senior instructors.
run over 4 weekends in October.
RYA Start Windsurfing Instructor
This course will be delivered by James Hardy.
Pre-requisites
Minimum age 16
Intermediate non-planing certificate with beach starting and non-planing jibe clinics
RYA Powerboat level 2 certificate
RYA Safe & Fun safeguarding certificate
Valid first aid qualification
Course duration
The course will be run over five days, from 9 am to 5.30 pm, though sessions can run over.

British Canoeing Paddle Sport Leader Training (2 day)
Your award will support you to run safe and enjoyable trips, based on your group’s needs and aspirations. You will lead journeys, on sheltered water, for a range of mixed craft.
As a Leader, you can work independently or be deployed by a club, centre or organisation to lead trips and journeys. The purpose of these trips may be wide ranging from educational experiences, social adventures or trying something new.
You will be able to provide British Canoeing Awarding Body Awards and Training such as:
Personal Performance Awards – Paddle Start and Paddle Discover.

This course is run remotely at Ardingly Reservoir for day 1 and on either the Ouse from Barcombe Mills or the River Medway from Teapot island for day 2. Own transport and equipment is essential. Chris Conley the course tutor will liaise direct with candidates around the venue arrangements.

Archery GB – Archery Instructor £175
The Archery GB Instructor Award is the industry’s leading training course for archery. The course is designed for learners with little or no prior experience of archery. Learners must be at least 17 years old by the first day of the course. The course is 2 days long and includes a practical assessment. The successful learner will gain an Archery GB Instructor licence which lasts for three years. After this it can be renewed by successfully completing an online renewal module. The licence does not provide the instructor with insurance.
These are some of the skills you will learn on the course:
- How to shoot arrows
- How to prepare and deliver archery sessions
- How to select appropriate equipment
- How to set up a range
- How to ensure safety on the range
This course is run from the Bushy Wood Activity Centre.

National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA) YPS Tutors Diploma- £145
The standard course to be able to deliver a taster sessions in air rifle shooting. The NSRA YPS (Youth Proficiency Scheme) Tutor’s Diploma will equip candidates to run have-a-go sessions in air rifle shooting and also to take young people for an introduction to shooting over a longer period (as in Scouts or other uniformed groups).
