COVID 19 info

– Corona Virus Important information regarding impact on service.

Dear Valued Clients, please take the time to read the following information on how we at Buzz Active aim to reintroduce activities as and when we can.
We are experiencing an unprecedented situation with the COVID 19 pandemic
Buzz Active Phased Re opening Strategy.
We are operating at phase 3 as below.
Within our phased re opening strategy we will be setting out clear measures to ensure we operate in a ‘COVID Secure’ manner, and as the Prime Minister has stated we will have to do this in ‘baby steps’ to ensure we do not contribute to a second wave.
Getting to us
We recommend using the Coastrider Bus, or car sharing as Increased traffic around Exceat Bridge area and associated car parks may cause delays. We encouraged clients to behave responsibly when parking and in the country park and not to block access to property, park on verges or in car park entrance ways. please give ample time to park and find us to commence bookings on time.
Cleaning and decontamination of equipment-
The equipment will be systematically cleaned between uses, and all clients will be asked to use the cleaning stations provided, while maintaining social distancing measures and adhering to the government rules around mixing with other households.

Phase 1- Hire bookings and outside use of equipment.(22 June to 29 June)

22 June onward- Booking online for hire at our Cuckmere and Eastbourne sites when wind and weather allows. This will be an offer for Households / individuals and groups of up to 6 to get afloat on SUP or kayak for some exercise. We will stagger start times and have cleaning stations set up. The building will not be used.
Storage members to be allowed to access use their equipment at their own risk.
Discussion among team members is taking place on small group family group tuition options.
We will not allow changing in our facility. Access only for toilets and we ask clients to arrive ready for the water where possible. A strict one-way system will be imposed for collecting, paddling on the meanders, returning, cleaning and depositing of equipment handled by the general public.

Phase 2- (19 July – 02 September)

once limited group activity is deemed appropriate. Working with some targeted youth support services and reintroduction of limited membership and partner club activity will comprise of a similar operation as hire. The safety of clients and members / parent and guardians is paramount. We will allow members access and run limited membership sessions, members will be asked to book ahead online, arrive ready for the water and in limited number.

Phase 3- (02 September to present time)

Reintroduce small groups of school or educational groups in line with social distancing rules around the ‘Social Bubble’ tactics This phase in consultation with the Local Authority and National Governing Bodies is avaiable to those schools wishing to persue water sport activity, Land based activity at this time is not available.

This may include classes who have reconvened, other small friendship groups, home school networks youth clubs ir other mandated groups etc. We await further guidance and will update our policy at the relevant juncture. larger groups and bubbles may attend but are subject to smaller group sizes once onsite – Limited changing facilities are available at present.

Phase 4

– Normal Running – Not Expected to be until Early 2021 or beyond.
Thank you very much for your support and understanding in these extraordinary times.

“We have 200 of our Year 7 students taking part in team and skill building activities at @Buzz Active Water Sports down on the seafront this week.

The weather has been glorious, with Eastbourne well and truly living up to its ‘Sunshine Coast’ name! Our students have certainly made the most of being on the water.

Activities have included windsurfing, kayaking, raft building, sailing and stand-up paddle board classes, undertaken with smiles and good humor all round.

Undoubtedly though the highlight of their trip has been the opportunity to ‘dunk’ their tutors off their paddle board (just ask Mr. Lennon how he feels!  Poor Mr. Lennon).

What a week!

A very big thank you to Buzz Active for hosting our students , we certainly highly recommend.  A great company offering a huge variety of activities right on our doorstep in Eastbourne, if you want to gain confidence on the water and have some fun then definitely give them a go.

As ever, a huge thank you to Mrs. Papagna and everyone who supported the students in this trip and, as ever, a big thanks to her trusty steed – Biscuit the dog!”

“Thank you for setting up two water sports activities this summer.

I would like to mention that both your instructors, Luke and George, were excellent in their skills in dealing with our young people- both being expert tutors- being supportive and understanding with the skills levels of the two groups- whilst also ensuring the day was great fun. I was very impressed with both of them. They are definitely, in my opinion, great assets to your staff team and were responsible, in a very large measure, for the success of our visits.

I hope I will be able to rebook with you again soon.

Best wishes

“Leanne has helped transform our extra-curricular programme at the College. With her philosophy of ‘let them go out… but safely’, we can organise educational visits with confidence. The Exeant programme is a fine example of technology making cumbersome communication efficient.”

Chris Vigor, Heathfield Community College

“The bespoke Educational Visit Coordinator update training that we received was informative and relevant. The delivery of the trainer was accessible without being patronising. Thoroughly recommend this essential service to all Academies.”

Sue Wilkinson, Hailsham Community College

“The offsite visits service is excellent. It’s great value for money and help is always forthcoming and quick. We highly recommend it.”

Tracy Comfort, Ratton School
